Respirable Dust Testing

Respirable Dust Testing

Protect Your Air, Protect Your Health

At Full Spectrum Environmental, we provide professional respirable dust testing services to accurately measure fine airborne particles that can impact respiratory health. Whether for your home, business, or yacht, our certified testing helps you understand and manage dust exposure risks effectively.

What Is Respirable Dust?

Respirable dust refers to tiny airborne particles small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs when inhaled. These fine particles, typically less than 4 micrometers in diameter, can bypass the body’s natural defense mechanisms and cause respiratory health issues over time. Respirable dust is a key concern in both residential and commercial environments, especially in workplaces where dust exposure is prevalent.

What Causes Respirable Dust in the Air?

Respirable dust can originate from various sources depending on the environment, including:

Construction and Demolition

Grinding, Cutting, and Sanding

Abrasive Blasting

Mining and Quarrying

Don't Compromise on Safety. Act Now.

Protect your health, your employees, and your business from the dangers of respirable dust exposure. Proactive testing is the first step towards a safer, compliant environment.

Why Respirable Dust Needs to Be Tested

Licensed environmental professionals collect air samples with specialized equipment to measure fine dust particles that can be inhaled. These samples are analyzed in accredited labs to determine dust levels, providing clear results to address workplace or indoor air concerns.

Sample Collection with Calibrated Flow Rate

We use specialized personal or area sampling pumps set to precise flow rates to capture airborne respirable dust. Size-selective devices ensure only particles small enough to reach deep lungs (<4 µm) are collected on filters during sampling.

Laboratory Analysis by Gravimetric Measurement

The collected filters are analyzed by an accredited laboratorys where respirable dust is measured by weight using gravimetric analysis. This precise method compares filter weights before and after sampling to determine the exact concentration of dust in the air.

Comprehensive Reporting & Interpretation

Once analysis is complete, we provide detailed reports showing respirable dust levels relative to occupational standards. Our experts review the data and offer recommendations for reducing dust exposure and improving air quality.
